A mornings work ... planting on seedlings

Today, Imogen helped me plant on seedlings of Tomatoes, Chili Peppers and Achocha's. Firstly we put some compost into some pots.

Imogen was chief "dibber" having claimed the dibber to make the holes in the compost which we then popped the seedlings into, and then they were popped into trays of water to soak up.

So what do we have as a result of the mornings work:
4 Beefsteak Tomato Plants
5 Black Russian Tomato Plants
7 Plum Tomato Plants
13 Gardeners Delight Tomato plants
6 Zuckertraube tomato plants
7 Sun-dried Tomato plants
2 Tumbling Tomato plants
6 Habanero Chili plants
2 Hungarian Hot Wax Chili plants
5 Achocha's

Not bad for a mornings work, more to be sown for succession of crop throughout the year. More sowing to be done of other crops too, but it was time for lunch so back to them another day.

  1. Argh! I'm still so behind! Every day I plan to get out and get things done, something else gets in the way *sigh*.

Looks like you're going to get a good variety of tomatoes - but sun-dried tomato plants?

  2. I wanted to sow more seeds, but lunch was calling - hopefully get some done at the weekend.
The sun-dried one is an Italian variety that they grow to dry for sun-dried toms, jsut cut and hang in shade apparently. Thought they'd be interesting to try.

  3. And I thought I was a tomato junkie! I saw the catalogue photo of the sundried toms hanging up outside - looks great, so looking forward to seeing that replicated on your blog later in the year. xx
