I've been meaning to pop this on the blog all week but haven't had the time, must be all that hard work I've had to do this week! Yes, I returned to my previous "job" before motherhood this week and have worked my notice and now am free from this employment. I shall be looking for something else part time to work around school with Imogen, but just not back to the old place. I actually quite enjoyed the 3 days I had to work (yes, I know ... only 3, the joys have having leave accrued!), catching up with old friends was good.
So onwards to the weekend, today it is the South Downs Green Fair (formerly the Hampshire Green Fair) hosted at the Sustainability Centre in East Meon. A lovely place and a lovely event with lots to see and do for all the family. An opportunity to meet and hear from some wonderful people - Maddy Harland, Ben Law and John-Paul Flintoff will all be there.
We've had a good time at this for the last few years, in 2009 and 2010. Ah yes, looking back on good days out is lovely, especially as one of them started me off on my journey into the world of spinning, how wonderful.
The sun is shining this morning, though the ground is undoubtedly damp from the rain in the past 24 hours, mostly overnight for the last two nights, so wellies may be the right footwear. We'll have a good day anyway, the cool wind last year didn't put us off, the year before was blazing hot sunshine ... British weather is fun. We're taking some friends with us (our bit of car sharing) and some other friends we will meet there.
Sounds lovely. Wish there was something like that up here. Would love to hear Ben Law talk.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely day.
I wish we could be there, it looks amazing. We're down that way in a few weeks though, at the Nurtured Family event in Haslemere, will you be there? xx
ReplyDeleteHi, it's always a lovely day out.
ReplyDeleteNo I can't make it to the Nurtured Family thing, other things committed to already, hope you have a great time x
