Homemade gadgets

What do you do when you have a lovely spinning wheel but no Lazy Kate (for plying) or a Niddy Noddy to wind the skein?

Well, whilst waiting for your father to make the said items as he has a lathe and enjoys making things, you make do with a shoebox and some knitting needles for the Lazy Kate

and a strong cardboard inner from tin foil roll and some chunky knitting needles for a Niddy Noddy.

They will do for now, and I have seen a homemade Niddy Noddy made from plumbers tube and t-junctions so may well improve on the cardboard one to that awaiting my goodies from my Dad.
