Book Sharing Monday

We're very tired today so just a quick post selecting a book for Book Sharing Monday, will post about weekend activities another day.

Today we have chosen to share "Little Bo Peep's Library Book" by Cressida Cowell. As you can probably guess Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep, and she decides to go to the library to borrow a book on finding sheep. Whilst at the Library she comes across some familiar characters browsing the shelves, the Big Bad Wolf is reading a cookery book - a little pull out book called "Basic Little Girl Cookery".

The Queen of Hearts is in the crime section reading a book called "Who stole the tarts?"; and in the natural history section Little Bo Peep finds exactly what she is looking for - "How to Find Sheep", another pull-out book with the nursery rhyme. So she takes the book to the librarian to stamp it and takes it home, and the sheep follow her ... wagging their tails behind them.

This book is just lovely and quite funny, with characters from other stories and little books you can "take off" the shelf to read. The cookery book has some recipes the Big Bad Wolf would enjoy! The illustrations are good too. This book is now out of print but has recently been republished as Little Bo Peep's troublesome Sheep.

I love the attention to detail with this being the inside cover - the library issuing stamp page.

Imogen enjoying the book
